Teenagers accused of robbery plot
TEENAGE boys accused of committing a string of handbag robberies on the elderly have appeared before Wakefield magistrates.
The two boys, aged 15 and 17, are charged with conspiring to rob between July 13 and 15. They also face two joint charges of robbery and one of theft.
The 17-year-old Pontefract boy is also separately accused of robbing a man of 20 in cash. The 15-year-old Wakefield boy is separately accused of robbing a woman of her handbag and contents.
The court heard three of the alleged victims in the handbag cases were in their seventies.
The boys were remanded in custody pending another hearing next month.
