The first acts to perform at next year’s Long Division festival have been announced.

The first acts to perform at next year’s Long Division festival have been announced.

Scottish indie pop band Bis, who recently reformed and have released their first album in 13 years, will play at the event.

They will be joined on the bill by Los Campesinos!, who performed at The Hop in 2011.

The six piece indie pop band from Cardiff are preparing to release their sixth album as they celebrate their tenth year together.

The festival, which takes place over the weekend of June 10 to 12, will see more than 90 acts perform across seven venues in the city.

Next year’s event had been under threat because of funding cuts. But music fans donated £6,000 to a fundraising page in just nine days to secure its future.

Dean Freeman, the festival’s founder, said: “For me 2015 was the best Long Division yet. I had the most fun of any festival.

“But afterwards, I did wonder if it could ever happen again – these are tough financial times. But there was a huge response to the Crowdfunder, which blew my mind.

“I’ve never felt more invigorated about the festival. And I’ve never dashed around the country meeting people who want to get involved so much.”

The festival’s organisers will be holding a launch party on Friday, February 12 at Unity Works, where they will be announcing more bands who will perform.

Tickets for Saturday, June 11 are on sale at £25. Tickets for 18 to 21-year-olds cost £15 and £10 for 16 and 17-year-olds.
