A lorry crashed through a wall on a road where people are campaigning for speed restrictions.

A Salford Van Hire vehicle hit a wall and knocked down a telegraph pole on the A637 Huddersfield Road, in West Bretton.

The incident occurred around 4.30pm on Wednesday, April 1 and took four hours to clear. It has also left some homes without phone lines and broadband.

It follows a campaign by councillors and residents to have the speed limit reduced to 40mph.
