A DRIVER charged with causing the death of a six-year-old boy in an alleged hit-and-run has appeared in court.
Peter Michael Renshaw only spoke to confirm his personal details when he appeared at Wakefield Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday) .
Renshaw, 22, of Grange Drive, Emley, is charged with causing the death of Owen Wightman by driving dangerously on Fishpond Lane, Kettlethorpe, on June 18.
He is also charged with failing to stop and failing to report an accident.
Renshaw was granted bail and is expected to appear before Leeds Crown Court next week.
