A multi-cultural festival to unite communities through sport, dance and music will be held in Agbrigg Park.
There will be a bouncy castle, henna tattooing, a barbecue, football tournament, tug-of-war and arts and crafts at Agbrigg Mela Gala on Sunday, August 10.
The event, which will run from 1pm to 5pm, is hosted by Wakefield Young People’s Area Forum with the support of organisations including Agbrigg Youth Club, the council, Wakefield and District Housing and the police.
Last year it drew more than 500 people to the park.
Organiser Usman Ali said: “This is a great event for bringing people from different cultures together and celebrating community cohesion.
“It is going to bring everybody together.”
