A FUN-packed miners’ gala with a 1950s theme will be held on Sunday at the National Coal Mining Museum.
There will be music, storytelling, crafts and a knitted vegetable competition at the museum from 11am-5pm.
Emley Brass Band will perform, and there will be sports day activities including archery and an egg and spoon race.
The links between mining and sport will also be explored with the launch of a new exhibition by Paralympian weight-lifter Chris Wood.
Admission is free at the museum on New Road, Overton.
Entrants to the knitted vegetable competition can use any knitting or crocheting pattern they like. Entries will be submitted on the day from 12 noon-1pm.
