And police say they have not ruled out the possibility that he may have caught a taxi out of Wakefield city centre on the night he disappeared.
Ben 17 went to watch his friend’s band at the Black Flag , on Smyth Street, last Friday and has not been seen since.
He was last seen at about 1.30am on Saturday, near to the JCT600 Mazda Garage on Denby Dale Road. Police have searched the River Calder and areas including Eastmoor and Pinderfields Hospital’s grounds. Insp Phil Wiggins, of Wakefield Police, said: “We cannot discount the possibility he may have got into a taxi and left the city centre.”
Police said that when Ben went missing he had with him a bronze-coloured Yale key on a bronze keyring, a black Blackberry Curve 8520 mobile phone and his 18-year-old brother Jamie Manning’s passport.
Ben is about 5ft 8in tall, slim, with light brown hair.
He was wearing grey jeans, black T-shirt and a grey fleece-type jacket. Anyone with any information should contact police on 01924 334716.
