Former Horbury Academy pupil Nalika de Silva will take to the stage for a one-woman show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival next week.
Miss de Silva will perform a one woman show Me, Bill Nighy and The Goblin every day from Thursday, July 31 until August 11.
The comedy show tells the story of a girl about moving from the north to London to try and achieve her dreams and the reality of what it’s like.
The show is directed by award winning Chicago-born stand-up comedian Cynthia Levin, who has performed on Broadway in New York.
It also includes a scene with the Gledholt Male Voice Choir from Huddersfield with a Bollywood twist.
Miss de Silva also performed at the arts and culture festival in Edinburgh last year.
She performed in Bon Bon and also won Best Newcomer for her role of Gloria in Brassed Off.
Miss de Silva, of Ossett, now lives in London and regularly performs in comedy venues across the capital.
But this will be the first time that Miss de Silva has performed a solo show.
After performing in Edinburgh she will also perform the show at Camden Fringe Festival on Thursday, August 21 and Friday, August 22.
Other performers at this year’s event in Edinburgh include Nancy Dell’Olio, who rose to fame after dating former England manager Sven Goran Eriksson and comic Frank Skinner.
