THE crisis-hit trust which runs Pinderfields Hospital has appointed a new chairman.
Jules Preston will join the board of Mid Yorkshire Hospitals Trust next month, replacing David Stone, the trust’s current interim chairman.
It is the latest in a string of changes in personnel at the cash-strapped trust, which is expected to be £26m in deficit at the end of the year.
Three new non-executive directors were appointed in July following a mass resignation over the trust’s deepening financial crisis.
Jules Preston will leave his position as chairman of Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust to take over at Mid Yorkshire on October 1.
Stephen Eames, Mid Yorkshire’s interim chief executive, said: “Jules Preston is a respected chairman of a successful Foundation Trust and brings a wealth of experience, which will be of enormous benefit to the trust and to our local populations as we move forward.
“The trust and the board are extremely grateful to David Stone for his stewardship of the organisation over the last seven months and we wish him well in the future.”
