New leaflet on how to help

Wakefield Hospice has launched a new leaflet outlining how people can support the facility in memory of a loved one.

The hospice has teamed up with insurance brokers Arthur J. Gallagher to produce the fundraising leaflet.

Clare Kemsley, fundraiser at Wakefield Hospice, said: “Many people choose to honour someone special by supporting our work. There are several ways to help, from setting up a Tribute Fund in someone’s name, to dedicating a leaf on our Tree of Life or sponsoring a light at our Light up a Life event. Our new leaflet has details of all these opportunities, and we’re very grateful to Arthur J. Gallagher for covering the cost of producing the leaflet.”

Fiona Hughes’ father Trevor was cared for by Wakefield Hospice, and she supports the charity in his memory. She said: “Wakefield Hospice means a lot to me, for the care that was given to Dad and all my family.

“It’s a charity that Dad would have wanted us to support.”

David Hancock, client executive at Arthur J. Gallagher’s Wakefield office, added: “We’re delighted to help raise awareness of how members of our local community can support Wakefield Hospice. As a community broker, first and foremost, we believe in giving something back where we can and recognise the invaluable support that an organisation like Wakefield Hospice provides to local families in their time of need.”
