A NEW pump track for BMX and mountain riders is set to open to celebrate national Bike Week Festival.
The track at Nostell Priory is designed to allow people to use their body weight and momentum to navigate the bumps and twists of the track without pedalling.
Sarah Rogers, National Trust community access officer at Nostell Priory, said: “The idea of a bike pump track came about and gathered momentum when we spoke to Casper Taylor of Chainbrakers in Wakefield, who helped to design it.
“Thanks to the Prince’s Trust, which worked in partnership with Babcock Enterprise, the new track was created in a corner of the parkland.”
It will be open all weekend of the bike festival and outside of that can be used at any time by community groups or by arrangement.
