The work of men sent to work down coal mines during World War Two will be honoured with an exhibition at the National Coal Mining Museum.

The Bevin Boys in Yorkshire, which features pictures, diaries and letters by Martin Hill, will open on Monday at the museum on New Road, Overton.

Ian Blatchford, director of the Science Museum Group, will speak at the 11.30am event, along with guests including former Bevin Boy and Wakefield Trinity player John Etty.
