THE closure of a struggling building and maintenance firm’s Ossett depot has left 21 people out of work.
Assured Building Solutions’s Dearden Street site has been closed after the firm went into administration.
The move has meant everyone working at the depot losing their jobs.
Assured did the most of its work for insurance companies but had suffered after failing to secure refinancing package.
Eight redundancies have also been made at its head office in Huyton, Liverpool.
Kerry Bailey, joint administrator at PKF, said: “Despite efforts made by the company over the last few weeks to turn the business around and secure a refinancing package, the board of directors took the decision to appoint administrators on 23 March.
“Regrettably, we have had to make the difficult decision of closing the Ossett operation, leading to a number of job losses at the depot.
“The business will continue to trade and provide services to its customer base from Huyton.”
Assured employees worked at Dearden House, part of the Dearden Gallery building which houses other businesses.
The building was once a rag warehouse occupied by Spedding Oddy.
