an Olympic runner got on her marks at the Hepworth gallery ahead of this summer’s games.
Sprinter Emily Freeman, from Huddersfield, joined Olympic-commissioned artist Clare Woods for a special tour ahead of the unveiling of her new exhibition.
Mrs Freeman said: “I am a big fan of Clare’s work, especially her exhibition The Unquiet Head at The Hepworth, particularly because of my fondness of Brimham Rocks and memories of running and hiding in and among the rocks as a child.
“As an athlete training towards the games and a member of the British Olympic Association Athlete Committee it is great to see the build-up and interest in the Games spanning to my home of West Yorkshire.”
The £35million gallery is set to be Yorkshire’s only visual arts venue as part of the London 2012 Festival.
