FESTIVE youngsters have sung their hearts out and are hoping their Christmas single will become a hit.
Pupils at Holy Trinity C of E Primary School, in Ossett, have channeled the magic they feel for the festive season into a single called Christmas Time Is Here.
The song was inspired by quirky Christmas traditions the youngsters shared from their families.
They also wanted to convey the real meaning of Christmas, and so created a pre-chorus about Jesus.
X-Factor-style auditions took part in school to determine who would take the lead roles in the song.
And following that, staff member Nigel Williams used his technical know-how and recording equipment to produce the single with teacher Paul Tattersfield.
The whole school took part in singing the chorus. And the single, released today (Friday) on iTunes for £3, will be sold to raise money for Children in Need.
Mr Tattersfield said: “It’s like School of Rock around school at the moment and the children are buzzing. I’m so proud of them, the energy they have put into this project and the patience they have shown.”
Children also made the artwork and sent letters to their favourite celebrities telling them about the song.
