WAKEFIELD HOSPICE: The Outwood Fundraising Group for the Hospice is holding a Coffee Morning tomorrow at the Memorial Hall from 10am-11.30am tomorrow (Saturday). Stalls will include gifts, tombola and books. All welcome.
SUMMER FAIR: A Summer fair is being held at Belvedere Lodge, Leeds Road, Outwood tomorrow (Saturday) 1pm-4pm. Various stall including tombola and raffle. Everyone welcome.
ARTHRITIS CARE: The next Arthritis Care meeting is on Thursday August 18 at 2pm at Outwood Memorial Hall. The topic this month is “Arthritis and your Eyes”. All welcome.
KEEP OUTWOOD LIBRARY OPEN: The library is a focus for the community, not only for books, but for access to the internet, a mums and toddlers, the Knit and Natter, and a well attended readers group. PACT MEETING: Police and Communities Together (PACT) are meeting Thursday August 18, 7pm-8pm at Outwood Memorial Hall. Areas will be monitored for ongoing anti social behaviour issues, sex in vehicles, drugs, underage drinking etc. Any incidents need reporting on the none-emergency number: 0845 6060606.
PROJECT YO: Charlie Keith is planning a meeting for anyone wanting join a group called Project Yo. Aimed at the Youth of Outwood, it will be offering an alternative to standing around on street corners, a pilot project being aimed for September. Input is wanted from the youth of Outwood with what they want to do, it is intended to put a suggestion box in the Spar shop on Potovens Lane for any ideas. Charlie will keep me posted once a venue has been arranged for a meeting, which I will include in this column.
