A LION tamer and cowboys were among the characters who took to the stage for a special pantomime in Agbrigg last week.
Members of the Your Voice Advocacy project for people with learning disabilities, performed their own self-written pantomime to parents and carers last Wednesday.
They had originally created the play for a fun day held at the Montague Street community centre the week before, which aimed to celebrate the ability and talent of people with learning disabilities and promote self-advocacy across the district.
Last week’s community event gave them a chance to shine again.
Self advocacy worker, Sarah Edwards, said: “They did themselves proud and really were stars for the day because lots of parents filmed the show. It was fantastic.”
Your Voice Wakefield helps adults with learning disabilities and autistic spectrum conditions have their voices heard.
They also help them access information about their rights and other services that may be available to them.
