Wakefield District Cycle Forum is running a programme of rides aimed at people who are new to cycling.

On Sunday, March 1 there is an easy ride from Nostell Priory starting at 10.30am.

On their website, the forum said: "Meet in front of the house, ride starts at 10:30. Cycling at an easy-going pace, ideal for beginners, families and those wanting to build their confidence, using traffic free routes and some quiet roads, lasting approximately 3 hours, and usually includes a refreshment stop.

"A number of bikes are available to borrow. There is no charge but bikes must be booked in advance by email: [email protected]."

On Saturday, March 7 there is a ride from the Darrington Hotel starting at 10am.

Further rides are scheduled for later in the month. More information on routes and renting a bike can be found www.cycling-wakefield.org.uk.
