A WOMAN was dragged into a car by a man before the vehicle sped away.

Police are now appealing for help to trace them both after the incident on Lingwell Gate Lane, Lofthouse, last night (Sunday).

Officers believe the woman was pulled into a red coloured saloon car at around 11.30pm and the vehicle then headed off in the direction of Outwood.

DI Paul Harrison said: “We need to speak to this woman to check she is okay.

“It might have just been a bit of an argument between partners that spilled out onto the road but we need to know everything is okay.

“Are you the woman or man? Or did you see the incident? If so please contact officers immediately.”

The woman is thought to have been aged between 18 and 30 and described as white, five ft five inches tall with blonde, shoulder length hair. She was wearing a denim jacket with a white top underneath.

The man was also white, of a muscular, stocky build, aged about 25 and with short shaved dark hair. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with any information should contact Wakefield CID on 101.
