Police appeal following assault on 14-year-old boy in Wakefield

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old boy was assaulted.

The incident happened between 2.30pm and 3pm on Saturday, June 29, as the boy was walking with friends near to Speedy Bake at the Westgate Retail Park. He was approached by a man who hit him in the head and as a result, the teenager fell to the floor and was then kicked by the suspect.

The victim was taken to hospital with suspected concussion.

The man officers want to speak to in connection with the incident is described as white, aged in his late 20s and of stocky build. He was wearing a distinctive orange coloured jumper and was carrying a black bag.
