Police are appealing for witnesses following an alleged sexual offence near Sandal Castle.
Wakefield Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the alleged offence on the path behind Sandal Castle during Sunday morning.
Officers were called at about 9.40am on Sunday, April 21 by a woman who said she had witnessed a man performing an alleged act which outraged public decency.
It allegedly happened on a footpath behind Sandal Castle, near to the Portobello Estate.
The woman, who had been walking her dogs, fled the scene and contacted authorities.
Following enquiries a 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail.
Investigating officers are seeking information about the incident. Anyone who can assist should call Wakefield CID on 101.
