Police hunt man after DIY scam

A SUSPECTED fraudster who conned a DIY shop out of cash using fake receipts is being hunted by police.

The suspect was captured on CCTV as he tricked staff at Homebase, on Ings Road.

He used forged receipts on two separate occasions to convince staff to hand over money as refunds.

The incidents took place between January 5 and January 15.

The suspect is in his early 50s.

He is around 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build, with grey receding hair.

Witnesses said he was wearing tinted glasses, dark blue jeans, a suede jacket and loafer style shoes.

The suspect left the store and drove off in a silver Mercedes.
