School-leavers at Sandal Magna Community Academy got a parting gift from Wakefield Rotary Club last week.

President-elect Sheila Wainwright gave 20 pupils dictionaries at the end-of-term assembly. It is part of the club’s continuing programme to provide the books to Year six pupils.

Mrs Wainwright, a former headteacher herself, said: “This brings back real memories!”
