Pupils from Cathedral Academy wowed judges with their acting skills to win a drama festival.

Youngsters from the Thornes school performed two plays during the five-day South Yorkshire Drama Festival.

And out of 10 prizes to be won, they came away with five of them, including overall winner with their play DNA.

Best actor went to Ben Austin and Ivana Ivanatic won best actress. Best creative director was Sarah Fitzpatrick and the group got best dramatic moment and an adjudicators award.
