FISHING-MAD youngsters were reeling in the funds during a charity match in South Kirkby on Sunday.
The 21 under 16s took part in the fishing match at Owl Barn Fisheries to raise money for the Children’s Unit at Pontefract Hospital.
The winner was Jack Jones, who caught a whopping 26lb fish. Luke Parkinson came second with a 19.6lb fish followed by Tom Whalley in third with an 18.10lb fish. The under 13s winner was Ellis Dixon at 13.5lbs.
Steve Clarke, secretary of the SESKU committee, said: “It was a brilliant day and the kids really enjoyed it. I would like to say a big thank-you to Barry Spencer and Kevin Armstrong at Owl Barn Fisheries for allowing us to fish for free and the SESKU committee and Paul Cooper from South Kirkby Angling for organising the event.”
