Former Castleford Tigers captain and Wakefield Wildcats player and coach Ryan Hudson and his wife, Claire, have launched a second sports coaching company aiming to go into schools in the Castleford, Pontefract and Wakefield areas.

Elite Kids Coaching is delivering rugby and functional fitness in schools and has been set up following the success of the Elite Rugby Academy run on several evenings a week by Ryan and his ex-Castleford team-mate Danny Orr.

Ryan explained the ideas behind the new project: “Since running the Elite Rugby Academy a lot of schools have been wanting to hire our services for schools so we decided to launch Elite Kids Coaching.

“We are already in schools delivering rugby and fitness sessions through the day and after school clubs.

“With the iPad generation and technology taking over children’s lives it’s even more important to get children engaged in sport.

“Our aim is to improve every child’s functional fitness. Our fun workouts deliver measurable results and help to prepare children to develop a lifelong love of fitness.

“In a group setting children participate in sessions that are specifically designed to encourage enjoyment of physical activity whilst helping to build competence and self confidence.

“Elite Kids Coaching is an elite sports coaching company that will challenge and inspire every child that we work with. Using our unique approach to coaching we will create an exciting and engaging environment that children will thrive in.”

All the Elite Kids staff are highly trained coaches and skilled athletes that have played or are currently playing sport at a professional level.

“Our staff aim to raise PE standards and help every child achieve their full potential,” said Ryan.

“Every session will be delivered by a minimum of two Elite coaches to ensure maximum impact.

“Our coaches believe passionately about giving children the freedom to express themselves whilst enjoying their PE sessions and learning at the same time.

“Sport can transform lives, teaching valuable life skills, improving confidence, self belief, social skills and above all, instilling life long habits of being active and having fun.

“As well as offering high quality coaching we aim to include healthy lifestyle messages within our sessions, including nutritional facts and advice plus age relevant question and answer games.”
