Search for missing teenager continues

A MASSIVE police search for missing 17-year-old Ben Manning continued today as details of a new sighting were revealed.

Ben was reported missing by his mum after failing to return home following a night in the city out on Friday.

The last time she heard from him was when he sent her a text message at around 1.30am on Saturday.

Today police said Ben was spotted near to the JCT 600 garage, on Denby Dale Road.

And door to door enquiries were being carried out in Eastmoor this morning as an underwater search team was put on standby.

Ben had previously been spotted walking from Westgate, down Queen Street, along George Street at the side Gala Bingo across Ings Road and along Denby Dale Road.

CCTV cameras also picked him up standing outside Havana bar, in the city centre, and in a bus stop outside Reflex, on Westgate.

Ben is about 5 ft 8ins tall, slim build and has light brown hair.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing white Converse high-top baseball boots, grey jeans, a black T-shirt and a grey fleece-type jacket.
