Animals, zorb balls and go-karts were just some of the attractions at this year’s Walton Gala.
Hundreds of people attended the event at Walton Community Centre Sports and Social Club on Shay Lane, last Saturday.
Visitors were entertained in the main arena with a karate display, dog show and performances from singer Lucie Whitmore and the Westgate Cheerleaders.
And as well as the traditional craft and charity stalls, there was a funfair, beat the goalie challenge and donkey rides.
Event organiser Cherie Proctor said: “It went absolutely brilliantly. It was jam-packed and went down very well with all the visitors. The weather kept perfect for us and we improved massively on last year with plenty to do and a variety of stalls.
“We’ve had a lot of people commenting on how good it was and we have had positive comments in particular about Westgate Cheerleaders and our singer, Lucie Whitmore.
“The Party Animals went down a storm - they were surrounded by families learning about the animals all day- and people had great fun on the donkey rides, go-karts and zorb balls.”
A free family disco with DJ Dave Sounds was also held in the club afterwards.
The total amount raised at the gala is still being calculated but all funds will go to the Walton Community Centre Sports and Social Club to fund next year’s gala and to improve its facilities.
