Work by artists spanning six decades went on display to celebrate a creative club’s anniversary.
Wakefield Art Club held a party for members both past and present to mark their 60th birthday.
The club was founded in 1953 by artist Freda Griffiths, who attended evening classes taught by Beatrice Dillistone at Wakefield Technical and Art College.
John Ronald Coultish and William Dalton were made honorary life members of the club at its celebration.
Member Ann-Marie Day said: “It was a brilliant night and very busy.
“More than 30 members came along. Mr Coultish and Mr Dalton were slightly surprised to be made into honorary life members.”
The anniversary party was held on Tuesday, July 16, at West Yorkshire Sports and Social Club, on Sandal Hall Close.
They meet at the club every Tuesday from 7pm to 9pm and new members are always welcome.
