There are plenty of activities to keep you busy during the Easter half term break.

Sandal Art Group is inviting people of all ages to come and paint an Easter rabbit.

The paintings will be included in their latest exhibition at Anglers Country Park.

It will be held at the visitor centre at Wintersett from 11am to 3.30pm from Monday, April 6 to Sunday, April 12.

Paper, paint and brushes will be provided at the centre. Anyone can take part and each painting will be entered into a competition.

Edwin Hurst, the organiser, said: “We hope people will visit the exhibition and paint an Easter bunny, and also enjoy a walk around the beautiful country park.”

There will also be an Easter egg hunt at The Ridings between Saturday, March 28 and Wednesday, April 8.

The free event involves finding six special eggs and letters that have been hidden in shop windows.

To take part, pick up an activity sheet from the customer service desk on the upper mall and follow the clues to each egg and write down the letter.

Those who are able to crack the code will be entered into a competition to win a hamper and a £100 shopping voucher.

And on Saturday, April 4 Humpty Dumpty will be at the shopping centre handing out sweets to shoppers.

Sara Hassan, marketing manager at The Ridings Shopping Centre, said: “This Easter, we wanted to put on an eggciting activity for all the families to enjoy.”

The National Coal Mining Museum will also be hosting Easter activities between Monday, March 30 and Friday, April 17.

Youngsters can take part in their egg hunt that is spread across 45 acres of space.

There will also be live history performances and walks around the nature trail and spot different trees, plants and wildlife.

The activities will take place on weekdays between 1pm to 4pm.

An Easter fun day at Dimple Well Lodge will raise funds for Cancer Research UK and Flag Fundraising.

People can enjoy an Easter bonnet competition, a bouncy castle, disco, gunge tank, beat the goalie, a nerf gun shooting range, tombola and a bush tucker challenge.

The event at the Ossett hotel will run from noon to 4pm on Sunday, April 5.
