Stanley Library will close for refurbishment on Saturday.
People will be able to use a mobile library which will be parked outside the building, on Lake Lock Road, until it reopens on Monday, July 29.
The library building will be redecorated, with new carpeting, new shelving, furniture and a brand new layout.
Coun David Dagger, Wakefield Council’s cabinet member for culture and libraries, said: “We apologise for any disruption the temporary closure will cause, but hope all users to the library will enjoy the improved facilities when it reopens.”
The mobile service will have a wide selection of books, and anything not available immediately can be requested and collected within a few days.
It will be open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, from 10am until 4.30pm, and on Saturdays, from 9am until 1pm.
