Armed robbers threatened terrified staff before taking a large amount of cash.

Workers at Tesco Express on Dewsbury Road, Ossett, were closing up on Tuesday when three men broke in through the main door just after 11pm.

They forced the staff to hand over a large amount of cash before running off.

They escaped down Trinity View and onto St Peters Gate before getting into a getaway car in the Red Lion pub car park.

Police said it was a brown saloon model which was driven towards Flushdyke.

Detectives said all three suspects were aged in their early to mid 20s and spoke with local accents.

One was wearing a white balaclava and a grey hooded top.

The second suspect was also wearing a white balaclava and a blue hooded top.

The third suspect was wearing a dark hooded top with orange stripes.
