WAKEFIELD Hospice has made it even easier for people to support this year’s 10k runners.
As well as sponsoring those individuals who take to the streets next weekend, people can now text their donations direct to the charity.
And to celebrate the new initiative, the hospice’s unnamed mascot joined runners in Thornes Park to show off the code.
Event fundraiser Sam Wood said: “Now it’s easier than ever to support our runners in their attempt to raise £30,000.
“And best of all, the hospice will receive 100 per cent of the donation, no commission charge for the user or the charity. So what are you waiting for?”
To make a donation text the code RUNW10, along with an amount, to 70070 and this will be directly sent to the hospice.
The annual 10k run will see hundreds of people make their way from Clarence Park to Horbury and back again from 9am on Sunday, April 15.
Youngsters will take part in a 1k fun run around the park and children under 12 have up until the race to name the mascot.
Horbury Road, Northfield Lane, Southfield Lane and Quarry Hill will be closed until 10am on the race day.
