Gym staff are set for an unusual 2.5 mile work out this Sunday.
The team from Tops Fitness and Rehabilitation in Outwood are set to push a near £20,000 piece of equipment from their Cobham Parade gym to the spinal injuries unit at Pinderfields Hospital.
The gym has a demonstration model of the ‘Lite Gait’ machine but wants to buy one to help disabled people with their rehabilitation.
Tops partner Jimmy Gittins, who himself learned to walk again after a rugby accident, said the machine helps support the weight of clients and allows them to exercise for longer.
He said the big push starts at 10.30am on Sunday and would involve about ten people using the machine in rotation while others pushed it along the pavement.
