M1 shut in both directions after 'police incident'

A detour is in operation with both the north and southbound carriageways following the incident near Woolley Grange near J38.

Congestion is back up to Ossett on the southbound and back to J37 Barnsley turn-off for those heading north.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area.
