Train services between Leeds and London Kings Cross disrupted
Rail passengers are facing delays today due to overnight track improvement work not being completed on time.
Some East Coast services between Leeds and London Kings Cross have been cancelled and commuters at Wakefield Westgate station are facing delays of up to 15 minutes for trains that are still scheduled.
A spokesperson for East Coast said: “Delays are being caused because overnight track improvement by Network Rail has not been completed as planned.
“We apologise for the inconvenience this disruption has caused. We are doing everything we can to try and ensure normal service is resumed.”
Disruption is expected until tomorrow morning.
