Tributes have been paid to a football coach who died unexpectedly.
Steve Kelly, who was coaching Ossett Town FC’s Under 19s academy, was found at his home on Tuesday.
He was credited for taking the academy team from strength to strength, with a great knowledge of the game and a real ability to motivate players.
On behalf of the club, Ossett Town Juniors chairman James Rogers said: “Steve was a fantastic human being with a big heart, a great sense of humour and a larger than life character.
“He was a big part of Ossett Town and was an absolutely fantastic coach for our U19s Academy. His knowledge of the game and the way he motivated his players to get the best out of them was exceptional.
“His focus was on getting every player to play at the highest level they possibly could. He would be devastated when a player with talent chose to give up football or decided development and progression wasn’t for them.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this sad time.”
