Trains were halted when a lorry crashed into a railway bridge in Crofton earlier today.
Police and an ambulance attended the crash at around 9.05am at the bridge on Doncaster Road.
Police said the vehicle was badly damaged in the collision but the driver was not thought to have been injured.
Network Rail said trains between Knottingley and Wakefield Kirkgate were stopped as engineers carried out an examination to see if the track was damaged.
A spokeswoman for the rail operator said trains were running again by 9.40am, and no significant damage was caused to the bridge.
