CELEBRITY chef Jean-Christophe Novelli will spice up the city’s food festival while raising money for Wakefield Hospice.

The Michelin-starred chef, who has appeared in numerous television cooking shows, will be hosting a Night of Novelli Cuisine as part of Wakefield Council’s Food, Drink and Rhubarb Festival on Saturday, February 26 at Cedar Court Hotel.

The night will celebrate the best of local produce and includes a three-course meal and disco.

And Mr Novelli will cook the main course in front of the audience.

He said: “I am delighted to be a part of the 2011 Wakefield Food, Drink and Rhubarb Festival dinner in aid of Wakefield Hospice. It will be a wonderful celebration of food while supporting a very worthwhile charity. A magnificent recipe for success.”

All proceeds from the event are in aid of the hospice and to help boost funds.

And on the night there will be a raffle and auction with many great prizes up for grabs, including a Mediterranean Cruise, a night at the Crab Manor Hotel in Thirsk, signed goodies and even a year’s supply of Seabrooks crisps on the night.

Tickets, priced at £40 are now on sale. Contact Emily Murphy or Keeley Harrison at Wakefield Hospice on 01924 213900 or email emily.murphy@wakefieldhospice.co.uk or keeley.harrison@wakefield hospice.co.uk
