A World War Two hero has shared details of his daring escape from a prisoner of war camp to commemorate the 70th anniversary of VE Day.
In this video John Mountain, 95, tells about his flight from Italy to the Swiss border.
Mr Mountain, of Outwood Park, was in the Marks and Spencer cafe in The Ridings at 3pm today (Friday) to observe the two-minute silence for the Victory in Europe anniversary.
The war veteran has written about his exploits in a book called A Mountain to Climb. It was co-written with his late wife Nora.
All profits from the book go to Wakefield Hospice.
