Quirky live performances capturing the changing face of city life will take place as part of today’s Wakefield Lit Fest lineup.

People will be taken on tours through the city from secret locations during Wakefield Wordwalk, which starts at 7.15pm.

The creative writing project, by theatre director Andrew Loretto, will include performances of poems, song lyrics and even short plays at venues, ranging from galleries and the cathedral to rivers and street benches.

Other events today (Wednesday) include creative writing workshops for adults and storytelling and drawing with children’s illustrator Lynne Chapman at Wakefield Library and Museum.

And from 6pm at The Orangery, on Back Lane, cartoonist Stewart (Staz) Johnson will talk about his career with DC Comics, Marvel UK and 2000AD.
