A BOY from Ossett had to be rescued from the North Sea after his sailboard was blown down by strong winds.

The Bridlington Lifeboat crew were called to rescue the boy about 1.30pm on Sunday as he struggled in the gusting offshore winds.

The boy had been windsurfing with his dad.

He was picked up and brought back to the shore unharmed.
