STUDENT Sarah Watson may just have the X-Factor after making it through the first stage of the auditions on the hit TV show.
Wakefield College student Miss Watson, 17, raised eyebrows in her rendition of Taylor Swift’s Love Story which was aired on the ITV1 show on Saturday night.
The musical theatre student was described as “magnificent” by lead judge and Take That star Gary Barlow.
Miss Watson said: “It was amazing, probably the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.
“It was amazing meeting the judges but I was actually more nervous doing the interviews before the audition.
“When I was singing adrenaline took over and I was doing what I love so it was great.”
Supporting Miss Watson back stage were eight friends, her brother and her father, Karl Watson, with his fiancée.
Sarah added: “My dad is a musician as well and he taught me everything I know so he’s always been a big inspiration to me.”
Miss Watson of Mount Cresent, Thornes Park, is in her second year at college and is deciding whether to persue a career in musical theatre or pop.
Her college lecturer Paul Dale-Vick, said: “Sarah is a bit of a ‘jack of all trades’.
“She does dancing, singing and acting and has such a versatile singing voice.
“I’m totally 100 per cent behind her.”
Miss Watson got what Gary Barlow desbribed as “four great big yesses” from the judges and goes on to boot camp, which airs on ITV1 on Saturday, September 24.
