A budget report, which will be considered at a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, February 11, sets out how the council will make £38m of cuts in 2015/16.

It reveals that 1,400 more jobs are set to go and proposes cuts of £20m from the adult care budget and £5m from services for children and young people.

Plans to cut £23m in 2014/15 were announced last year.

Council leader Coun Peter Box said front line services will deteriorate as government funding cuts bite.
