A charity beer festival has helped raise £3,126 for Wakefield Hospice.

The Aberford Road based hospice was one of three charities to benefit from Wakefield Festival of Beer last June.

The festival was organised by Wakefield District Round Table.

Danielle Norman, event fundraiser at the hospice, said “We are so pleased to have received such a generous donation towards our work. It is enough to fund one inpatient bed for seven days and will make a huge impact on a patient and their family needing our care.”

Matthew Wood, from Round Table, said: “All our members and volunteers work tirelessly on this event, this donation shows the fruits of our labour.”
