Three charities will benefit when beer drinkers queue at the pumps this weekend.
The inaugural Wakefield Festival of Beer starts today (Friday) and will run until late tomorrow night.
More than 60 real ales, craft beers, ciders and perrys will be on offer from local breweries, as well as live music and food.
Money raised from the event, which is being organised by Sitlington and District Round Table, will go towards Candlelighters, Levi’s Star “Shine On” and Wakefield Riding for the Disabled Association.
A special corporate event will run from noon until 4pm today, followed by a public session from 5pm until 11pm.
Bars will then be open tomorrow (Saturday) between noon and 4pm, and 5pm and 11pm.
The festival will take place at The Space, on Waldolf Way.
