MOTORISTS could face delays when the final stages of the North Wakefield Gateway work begins this weekend.
The outbound carriageway of Wentworth Street and Bradford Road will be closed between Bond Street and Snow Hill View tonight, Saturday and Sunday from 7pm to 6.30am each night.
Traffic will be diverted via Wentworth Terrace, Northgate and Leeds Road.
The inbound carriageway of Leeds Road and Northgate will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm to 6.30am each night.
Traffic will be diverted via Snow Hill View, Bradford Road, Wentworth Street and Wentworth Terrace.
And parking will be banned along Laburnum Road on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday between 7pm and 6.30am.
The North Wakefield Gateway scheme provides bus priority lanes to try and ease congestion.
It also includes new routes in and out of the city for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
It is part of a wider transport network plan called the Emerald Ring.
