A HEALTH warning has been issued after bottles of fake vodka containing cleaning fluid were found on sale in Wakefield.
Trading Standards officers have said “Drop Vodka” is not a legitimate brand and not fit for human consumption.
They said anyone who finds the vodka on sale should contact them on 08454 040506 - and anyone taken ill after drinking it should see their GP.
Retailers are also being warned they could face prosecution if caught selling it.
Pictures issued by Trading Standards show the drink has a red cap and red-bordered label with the word “drop” in red capitals below a blue water droplet.
After being analysed it was found to contain Chloroform and Isopropyl, a form of alcohol normally used as a solvent or cleaning fluid.
It was first found in Wakefield and was thought to be circulating in Leeds and Huddersfield.
