Woman cut free after car ploughs into Overton field

A woman had to be cut free from her car after it left the road and ploughed into a field in Overton yesterday (Wednesday).

She was travelling down New Road, close to the National Coal Mining Museum, when the collision occurred and the car dropped 15 feet into the field. She was taken to hospital by ambulance after being freed by firefighters.

Crews from Ossett and Dewsbury fire stations attended the incident just before 9.30pm.
