Woman seriously injured after being crushed by car

A woman has been left with serious injuries after being crushed by a car in Middlestown.

Fire crews from Dewsbury and Ossett were called to Danes Lane, at its junction with Carr Lane, at around 12.30pm.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said the 56-year-old woman was trapped between her car and a wall.

Firefighters assisted paramedics by using lifting equipment to move the car.

The woman was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary and has sustained crush injuries to her back, pelvis and legs.
